WINTER 2020

Well, what a fabulous start to 2020… I’ve had a lovely busy January and enjoyed some great gigs.

I made a return visit to the BaccaPipes Folk Club in Keighley in mid-January where I was treated to the infamous “wall of sound” chorus experience from the audience who were, as always, in fine voice. Here’s an interesting photo from the night – can you work out what on earth is going on?

At the end of January The Guildford Institute Folk Club were kind enough to let me use their amazing Bechstein Grand Piano. I accidentally managed to do an hour long first set because I was enjoying myself so much!

Feburary has been a much quieter affair although I picked up a last minute stepdance gig with my little brother at the FOAOTMAD Festival in Gainsborough. We caught up with loads of old friends, made many more new ones and got to dance with some of the most amazing Old-Time musicians. A particular highlight was dancing at the final concert with Emily Schaad, Travis Stuart and The Waggonhoppers.

I’m now very much looking forward to heading into March and performances including solo gigs at The Grove Folk Club, Leeds and Sharps Folk Club at EFDSS headquarters Cecil Sharp House. I’ll be joining the wonderful Barry, Folan & McGowan for Kilkenny Tradfest where I’ll be teaching a stepdance workshop as well as performing with the lads.
